The book is in original olive cloth with gilt decorations to front cover and spine. Gilt edging at the top edge of the book block. The book measures 7 1/2 x 10 inches and has 549 pages. Binding is tight.
Worn at extremities with brief exposure. Some general staining and rubbing. Binding gives a little but holding. Gathering of pages 151-154 detached but present. Previous owner's inscription to half title. Pages otherwise unmarked.
